What to Expect New

What to Expect at Tunatua RV Resort

1 / 2

Tunatua RV Resort opens August 1, 2026 in Craig, Colorado, a full-hookup basecamp in northwest Colorado's hunting country, minutes from the Yampa River.

The Vibe

A basecamp built for the hunt and the open country around it. Hunters, anglers, and road trippers trade stories in the club room between trips out, with big northwest Colorado sunsets to close the day.

A Typical Day

Roll out pre-dawn toward your unit, spend the day in the field or floating the Yampa River, drop game with a Craig processor on the way back, then swap stories in the club room as the high country goes dark.

Best For

Hunters working GMUs 12, 13, and 211, anglers on the Yampa, and road trippers passing through Craig. All sites are full-hookup with 30 and 50-amp service, and pull-throughs fit big rigs.

Good to Know

Opening August 1, 2026, so confirm availability before routing here. Check-in is 3 p.m. (early check-in $15). ATVs and UTVs are welcome with check-in registration: ride straight to your site at posted speeds, no recreational riding in the resort. Verizon and AT&T have reliable signal.

The Sites & Hookups

Every site is full-hookup with 30 and 50-amp service and pull-through access for big rigs, so a one-night stop or a full hunt-season stay both work. Total site count is set closer to opening. A heated bathhouse, laundry, showers, restrooms, and a club and meeting room are ready at opening, and the park is pet-friendly. Hunt-season nightly rates run $39 to $50 in October and November before fees and taxes.

Things to Do Nearby

Tunatua sits at 4175 W US-40, about 5 minutes from downtown Craig for fuel, meals, and supplies. Public land is close: GMU 13 runs about 20 to 45 minutes out, GMU 211 about 30 to 60, and GMU 12 about 35 to 60, with BLM access throughout (verify boundaries on OnX or the Colorado Hunting Atlas). The Yampa River is minutes away for floating and fishing. Craig processors include Brothers Custom Processing, Mountain Meat Packing, and AGP Processing.
