1 / 2

Applewood RV Resort is a big-rig-friendly basecamp in Wheat Ridge, CO, a northern Denver suburb minutes off I-70 with the Rockies in reach.

The Vibe

Practical and easygoing, set up for travelers who want a clean Denver-area base. The grounds run quiet and adult-leaning, with pickleball and a nearby city park, while the mountains and Front Range adventures sit a short drive west.

A Typical Day

Coffee at your pull-through, a morning hike or fishing at the nearby City Park, a run into Denver or up toward Lookout Mountain, then pickleball back at the park before grilling at your site.

Best For

RV travelers of any size and long-term stayers using Denver as a hub. All 70 sites are pull-through, some with water and 30-amp, others full hookup, and the park is big-rig friendly for motorhomes, trailers, and 5th wheels.

Good to Know

This is an RV-only park: no tents, no car camping, and rigs must be self-contained with a working bathroom. Long-term rigs need to be under 20 years old or approved by photo, and golf carts can be brought but not driven around the park.

The Sites & Hookups

Applewood offers 70 pull-through RV sites, big-rig friendly for motorhomes, trailers, and 5th wheels. Sites run on 30-amp service (50-amp isn't available right now), with water and full-hookup options depending on the site, so confirm what your rig needs at booking. There's a dump station, restrooms, and showers on-site. This is RV-only, with no cabins, tents, or car camping, and rigs must be self-contained. Additional vehicles run $50 a month and park along the fence line. Overnight rates start at $58, monthly at $1300.

Things to Do Nearby

You're near the corner of West 44th and Tabor, minutes from I-70, with a city park close for fishing, trails, and a playground. Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre and Lookout Mountain with the Buffalo Bill Museum & Grave sit a short drive into the foothills, and the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden is good for families. Downtown Denver brings Coors Field, Ball Arena, and Empower Field at Mile High, while Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park lie northwest for a bigger day out.
